Onpoint On Demand Announces Acquisition of Symbio Software

Portsmouth, NH, April 1, 2009 

Onpoint On Demand announced today that it has purchased unlimited licensing rights to Symbio from Objective Advantage. The structure of the deal will enable Onpoint to sell Symbio as an existing product, while also developing derivative products incorporating the Symbio platform. 

Onpoint will continue to sell Symbio as a server-based JDF-enabled workflow solution. Over the next several months, the company will also add Symbio functions to Onpoint Connect, its hosted supply chain management solution (SaaS). When complete, Onpoint Connect will be the only hosted POD supply chain management solution; providing multi-directional print procurement and production management for both enterprise and supplier. 

“In order for POD to be a sustainable way to print, buyers must have access to a diverse set of suppliers in a fully-automated supply chain,” stated Jack Perry, Vice President of Operations at Onpoint. “The POD workflow is comprised of frequent, small orders which must be automated from end-to-end in order to cost effective. The addition of Symbio functions to Onpoint Connect provides production management control at the supplier level; enabling centralized control of POD across various equipment platforms and geographic locations.”
